Results Mean muscle mass (g/kg) was not significantly different between groups during 1-h T4-T3 ingestion (Table 1). The increase in muscle mass was not different between groups on T4-T3 (Table 1). The increase in muscle mass on T4-T3 during the last two hours was significantly greater in muscles from the placebo group on T4-T3 than in muscles from subjects receiving T4-T3 (P < 0.001; Figure 1B).
